Affective June 30th, 2019, after 17 years as township clerk, Marie Parsons will be resigning as the Ingham Township Clerk. The Ingham Township Board will be taking letters of interest and resumes from persons interested in fulfilling the term of the clerk starting immediately. The intent is to appoint the person as a deputy clerk to work with Marie during the May election to gain election experience. That person will then be appointed clerk effective July 1 and will complete the term that ends December of 2020. Deadline to receive resume is January 21, 2019 at 5:00 pm. Township Clerk List of Duties: The Ingham Township clerk currently has office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 to 2:30 but additional hours may be required. This is a salaried position. Election certification and additional training will be required. The list of duties to follow is a general list of duties and may not be limited to the list. • Maintains custody of all township records • Maintains general ledger • Prepares warrants for township checks • Records and maintains township meeting minutes • Keeps the township book of oaths • Responsible for regular and special meeting notices • Publishes board meeting minutes • Keeps voter registration file and conducts elections • Chair of township and school district election commissions. • Keeps township ordinance book • Prepares financial statements • Delivers tax certificates to supervisor and county clerk by September 30 • Must post a surety bond This is a condensed list and not complete of all duties.
